Columbia seeks a self-driven Strategic Accounts Manager to join our team. The Strategic Accounts Manager will be responsible for developing sales in the southeastern region of the country. We will provide the training, coaching, strategy and technical product knowledge and traveling technical experts to make you successful. The right candidate will have 7-10 years of sales experience, a high sales and technical acumen and acute account management abilities. This role reports to the Vice-President of Sales, North America.

Our highly regarded, innovative transportation equipment is in demand by our quality-minded customers. This role will afford you the opportunity to work remotely; the ability to work independently and autonomously is paramount. While Solid Waste, Bulk Products or Recycling experience is preferred, we are willing to train ambitious a savvy sales professionals on the nuances of our industry. Duties and Responsibilities for the Strategic Accounts Manager: 

  • Able to assist and provide strategic planning & goal setting
  • Meets sales targets through sales development, direct selling, and key account management
  • Manage Strategic Accounts within a given geography with the ability and desire to prospect into key accounts through the use of strategic selling techniques.
  • Experience in sales forecasting and opportunity management.
  • Creates and implements a territory sales strategy
  • Provides constant communication of sales forecasts for corporate review
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

 Requirements for the Regional Sales Manager: 

  • 7-10 years of sale experience, selling capital equipment
  • Solid Waste, Bulk Products or Recycling, Mining, Oil & Gas experience preferred but not essential
  • Conversational level of proficiency in mechanical systems.
  • Proven, demonstrable track record of sales success
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in sales forecasting and opportunity management.
  • Experience in selling capital equipment products of high quality and be able to sell value over price.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM
  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers.
  • Effective/Efficient time management skills, able to work from home office/on the road with full autonomy and accountability.
  • Initiative and follow through, with excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability for 50-75% travel
